Jewels, the first annual, all female urban music conference, Philadelphia
Jewels Conference 2000"Jewels", the first annual, all female urban music conference will converge on Philadelphia, Pennsylvania October 20th-22nd, 2000. Over 3000 sisters, daughters, and mothers of the diaspora will meet to redefine the roles and images of female artists. This five star event will include workshops, seminars, performance showcases, networking receptions, and a variety of entertainment activities. In addition, the "Fine Linens" fashion show will preview couture collections from the world's most promising black designers. Affirm your commitment to sisterhood, creativity, innovation, and prosperity and bring your ideas to the roundtable. We invite you to join us for an intense glimpse into the lives of the women of this illustrious industry and be an integral part of shaping their future!

Jewels is a co-production of Ororo Borealis Productions & Million Woman Music Entertainment. A portion of "Jewels" proceeds are earmarked for Million Woman March community arts initiatives.   • "Visions Of Isis" - leading filmmakers, journalists, and photographers discuss and critique images of females in urban music.

Listen as they give you detailed information on marketing & distributing your music via the internet.
  • "I Am That I Am" - musics' most controversial, cutting edge, artists give their views of creative control and expression. Learn how to develop and market your innate creative abilities hear firsthand, how they were able to retain their artistic identity and become successful.
  • "Wordsound" - publishing executives, songwriters and performing artists discuss the facts of publishing and it's significance. Understand the ins and outs of publishing at last. Learn how to obtain a publishing deal.
