Acarine - Organ Donor CD [CNR Records] |
Organ Donor once again allows Lusty to demonstrate his verbosity as he tackles topics including complaining about fake hooligans and their blinging, communicating with an Ouija bored, strangling BNP members with their neckties, through appearing on Crimewatch and having a go a boy-bands, sweating on the tube and of course the usual shout out to all hoolies. Brett's beats provide the dirty and darkly numerous, whilst still bouncy, screechy horn populated Acarine backing. This is definitely a bit more funky than some of their previous work and check the catchy chorus hook, 'You don't know me and I don't know ya / I could be your organ donor'. Throughout scratches are provided by Matt Lewis. This CD also features the previously unreleased track The Ant Who Became Heavyweight Champion, which is much slower and down beat affair with a simple descending bass, a tambourine and high pitched electric guitar. Lusty raps about his life outside society. Walking around with stolen goods under his coat and using an analogy of an ant to a tiger to express the situation of the oppressed. 'Hate is a great mistake to make mate', is the important message eloquently expressed in the chorus. As a bonus the CD also includes the QuickTime version of the Organ Donor video, which is also still available from the download section on the Acarine website. So, although this is marketed as having three tracks on here it is really just two different ones. Regardelss, the video its self is based on the 60s TV show Batman and it also sees Alex dressed up as his hero Morrissey. It is a right laugh. Previous releases from Acarine have been surprise packages and this offering is the same. The cover artwork sees a developmental step change as Mandeep Gill gets to work a full colour sleeve which continues the Batman theme, with Acarine's wasp symbol shone into the night sky over London as the Bat symbol was shone over Gotham City. The single is released on 7th February 2005... so seek and thou shall find! |
