From the UK’s second city hails a talented young rapper with promising prospects to make a takeover on the UK Hip Hop scene and he goes by the name of CAPRICIOUZ. After recently receiving the highest votes EVER (nearly 6500) on BBC’S radio 1xtra home-grown hip hop competition he went on to win the contest and be interviewed live on air to claim his place as the winner.

December 2003 sees the release of the solo album from Capriciouz entitled DOWN PAYMENT. This LP represents a more personal side to Cappa as he feels this is a project he needed to do for himself rather than his usual target audience before anything else and so therefore will have a deeper more mature feel to it on a whole.

The album is pitched in a way to give you a more intimate feel to the life of Cappa Esquire. The track listing is a clue to what’s going on, if you look at it correctly each song is like a step within a long journey to making a definite mark on the rap game. That’s where the title DOWN PAYMENT came from as this LP is Cap’s equivalent to a deposit on the rap game before his final takeover.

This is just the beginning of a long line of instalments from Capriciouz so be sure to keep your ear to the streets for future releases.
