This CD dropped through the letterbox totally unexpectedly. I don't know who DJ Wiz is, although I have known several Wiz's in the past it seems to be a common name. I'm not entirely sure what the aim of this CD actually is though. Basically it is a compilation of 18 of the hottest tracks of the moment. Looking at it I thought it would be a mix CD, but there is no mixing, there are even gaps between the tracks! So the aim is not to display DJ skills. The CD also says it is a DJ promo so I thought it could have been sent out by a label to promote some of their current offerings, but the artists cross several labels, so that probably isn't the case either. The conclusion I have come to is that DJ Wiz is simply a nice guy who wants to send out CDs for people to bump in their cars. He successfully gets his name out there and shows that he can select with the best of them. The whole vibe is definitely on the commercial tip, but for me the cream of what will make you shake our booty is included here and the dross is left out.

The opening tracks are more danceable and as the CD progresses they get more RnB, but apart from a couple of tracks I feel the choice. All that remains is to give you an indication of the tracklisting, and to say that if you want one of these try emailing DJ Wiz to see what the score is…
