Pyramoya - 3 Track Demo [Muzik4Me]
Pyramoya are a new crew who have got down with the new Muzik4Me records label and are about to unleash their debut release. The Pyramoya crew is made up of Redrum, Gifted Child, Jah-Patriot and D-blues. On this first release there should be three tracks and for each track the line up changes slightly as does the producer.

War Again features the addition talents of Elle B and 2 Ice, the music being put together by Gifted Child. The track opens with some dodgy effected voice telling us that this is the sound of the streets and we had better prepare. The tracks is about the situation regarding Iraq, Saddam, Bin Laden, Bush and Blair. The music is rather simplistic and a bit featureless, but the many different voices add a certain amount of variety. There is a guy who flows a bit like MC D, a definite Reggae influence from one MC and Elle B drops a nice rap too.

Clockin again features some additional guesting from the aforementioned Elle B and 2 Ice as well as Royal Rebel. This time the production duties fell to Los Sol Entertainment who put together a much more clubby track making use of a snappy snare and other sythesised sounds. There is pretty much a wall of sound that overpowers the track in places. The lyricists take on the roles of boys chatting about girls and the girls replying back. At over five minutes in duration the track was getting a bit tired towards the end.

The last track on the demo is I think the most complete package. Ghetto's A Cage has the smallest line up of Redrum and Gifted Child only, but the pair spark off each other and demonstrate their ability to flow. The final producer to gain the credits is Active-member who pastes together a funky guitar break, break loop and strings. The track is also a bit shorter and so when it ends you aren't left feeling it should have finished earlier.

There are so many crews popping out from all over the place it is hard to keep track of all the talent. These guys as so many others are showing that they have it in abundance and can change up their styles across many genres. They maintain their definite UK identity and make best use of the different influences we experience in this country. While they are producing top quality tracks they are also imparting a serious and educational message, hopefully in such a way that it could be ingested and taken on board by today's youth. There is a great deal of hope out there, and whilst not all the lyrics are about upliftment, their observational nature will hopefully give the audience cause for thought and perhaps a different perspective to that they are constantly fed by the mass media. I have said it about many crews, but if these guys make the right moves you could well be hearing about them from other sources than myself. Look out for Pyramoya.
