Shiloh - They Wanna Ride CD [Urbanfire Recordings]
Shiloh - Urbanfire Recordings
Tracklist:
01. Digital Boogie
02. Grimey Flow
03. They Wanna Ride
Shiloh and Frontline have just come off tour support with U.S. RNB Sensation A.T.L... The groups and their label - Urbanfire Recordings are now setting about blowing themselves up. Shiloh is a 24 year old rapper and like the rest of the Urbanfire posse is coming straight out of Shepherds Bush, West London. Shiloh's dad immersed him with musical influences from an early age and some might say that Shiloh was destined to be a rapper ever since he was aged eight when he appeared on stage at the world famous Live Aid Gig at Wembley and rapped live! That was something to live up to and he followed this up throughout his teenage years when he battled at underground jams and on local pirate radio stations trade developing and marking out his style.

As with so many MCs he counts amongst his influences megastar Hip Hop artists, including: Run DMC, Public Enemy, KRS One, Nas and Nore to name but a few. Using many of these early experiences to aid his development Shiloh's lyrical style could be considered to be more on the storytelling tip where he calls on his life experiences to formulate many of the topics for his lyrics. You can also see some Junglist and Garage elements as well with Shiloh having spent a few years away from Hip Hop.

Whilst he is continually working on his solo projects he is also part of a the main Urbanfire crew - Frontline which includes three other members Tyson, Ratty and Picks, all in two producers and another MC. He has not been idle and he can count amongst his most recent projects a remix for Pop Idol singer Javine.

Although he has an undeniable UK edge, Shiloh is set to mash up dance floors with his upbeat and comedic delivery. On is website he is described as a cross between Obie Trice and Nas. Well I can see some of the similarities, but at the same time these comparisons are bold and hard to believe. You have to check out his They Wanna Ride release and judge for yourselves. Although he is a newbie to wax, with his confidence you can hear that Shiloh has been at the top of his game for several years. Shiloh stands out for his party attitude and less miserable outlook than many other UK acts.

His production is club ready, no grimey samples here it is all well sequenced and suitably up tempo for Shiloh to flip some quick raps. He definitely impresses with his skills and he adds his name to the burgeoning list of quality acts who could be on the verge of doing something big. His hot new three track EP They Wanna Ride will also includes an Allycatz remix of Digital Boogie.

With rave reviews from Hip Hop Connection, RWD Mag and Kwoshe on line mag. Shiloh and Frontline are the talk of the Hip Hop underground definitely a crew to watch...
