Unknown Soldiers - Demo CD [UKS] |
They now have their four track demo produced and it demonstrates their underlying musical skills. The opening track Get Up features a simple two tone synth pattern over a pumping bass and bumping beat. The chorus is filled out with more electronic keys, but really the MCs are quite impressive. The days of American imitators are limited as they come correct with their own accents. The lyrics aren't too deep - they are more about clubbing and fat girl stories, but it is an energetic introduction, just what is needed. Freeze And Stop has an altogether different flex. UKS change up for a proper club track with flows which are frequently double paced and show good breath control. The beat is all over the place with a Garagey feel, but this is them really bigging up their crew and how they run things. Thinking that the crew were all about upbeat hypeness DA DA DA slows down the pace for a mellow jazzy sax laced lazy throbber. A nice mix of the 'old with the new', with an excellent downbeat chorus which captures the lackadaisical vibe of the track. Last of the offerings, So Attractive showcases J-Keys' piano skills for another upbeat bouncy tale of chirpsing girls and making moves on a night out. All told yet another great demo from another crew that show a lot of potential and have their recording and production skills on lock.
