The latest sounds to be unleashed on us from Virgin Records America is Guerrilla Black. Originally from Chi town, but relocating to LA at an early age, Guerrilla has always known where he was headed. Early on he was given a leg up by Ice T, who he now looks up to and sees as a mentor. Now Guerrilla thoroughly represents for South Central and Crenshaw in particular. He currently has his Guerrilla City LP out in stores now and is about to drop You're The One, the latest single which features hot artist Mario Winans, who also produces and appears courtesy of Bad Boy Entertainment.

So here we potentially have the beginning of a summer vibe as the track flexes an easy paced chilled out groove. A hand clap snare and a heavily effected almost vocoder type melody bump along for Guerrilla to drop in his understated style which is quite obviously an homage to big poppa. Even the visual resemblance is there on the cover and in the video, it is something he is aware of, but he states that he can only be himself. This track is a love song in which Guerrilla eulogises about his girl and how he feels about her with Mario's silky smooth vocals for the chorus.

By the third verse Guerrilla is asking her to make a decision as to who's ride she is going to ride in. With such a smooth rap there is only once choice that she can make isn't there? This is an infectious single which should do well for the big fella. In the coming months I expect you won't be able to escape this.
